The Uncertain
Can indie developers create an AAA class game?
Here is the answer!
The Uncertain is an adventure game by ComonGames studio. The project is only about to launch, but it has already gained a good reputation, being featured in several exhibitions (DevGamm 2015, DevGamm Minsk 2015, WhiteNights 2015, E3 2015), and received a lot of positive reviews. It passed Steam Greenlight in 11 days and gained 85% ‘pro’ votes. The game falls into a popular genre of interactive movies where the player constantly interacts with the environment and moves gradually through the story. The action takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting: humankind was extinct as a result of war and former servant robots now rule the world. The story revolves around an engineering robot, who lives in an abandoned village. While interacting with objects, the robot expresses his thoughts and ideas, following his logic, which is completely different from human way of thinking. For example, when the robot expresses his thoughts on a piece of furniture, he doesn’t notice the aesthetic components like colours or the elegant shape, yet mentions its mechanical characteristics and operational flexibility. But the point is that the main character seeks to know more about humans, and reading old books seems not enough for him. The whole game is built around this passion of his, and who knows how will the main character’s humanity change as the time and sequels go by… The plot is not disclosed, but as it is typical of the genre, the story is detailed and fascinating.
The project is developed on Unity gaming engine using NVIDIA GameWorks technologies. Cinematic cameras and smooth transitions make the gaming world very attractive and exciting. The high quality background music is already available on the game website.
The game will be released on Steam and NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV first, further we plan to adapt the game for mobile platforms (Android, IOS) as well as release a version for 7th and 8th generation consoles.
